Reflection 9

This week I helped my mom make a Haitian penne and cheese pasta casserole. The first thing you do is take a pot filled with water and put it over medium high heat. Then, when it begins to boil, add desired amount of oil and salt, before taking two packages full of penne pasta and put it in the pot. Stir so that is fully immersed into the water. Drain the macaroni and place back on the stove. Afterwards, add in 3/4 cup of milk and 4 spoonful's of mayonnaise, then stir until evenly distributed. Then add in an cup of a variety of cheeses and stir. Take a rectangular roasting pan, butter up all the sides with your hands, and pour in the macaroni. Put it in the oven under 350 degree heat and continuously watch until cooked.
This was a really messy dish to make and requires a lot of hands on work, which was not something I'm used to. When I was trying to butter the pan, i almost broke it because I was using a knife because I didn't want to get my hands dirty.I need to get over this for future cooking ventures because a lot of cooking as to do with hands on activities.
