Reflection 8

On monday I went for a run after school and I was able to run 6 gravel laps at my town high school. I recorded the time for the first five laps which took me 35 minutes. Here are the times per lap:
Lap 1- 6:58 min. ; Lap 2- 7:00 min. ; Lap 3- 7:10 min. ; Lap 4- 7:02 min. ; Lap 5- 7:24 min.
Then, I ran the sixth lap at a steady pace without recording the time. It was not windy while I was running which might account for the difference in time with this run and the run last week. The wind is good challenge even though it is difficult weather to run in. Tuesday night, I made a meal out of tofu, whole grain brown rice, peppers, and onions. It was based on the recipes I found online last week.
My second run during the week was a total of 7 laps and here are my recorded times:
Lap 1- 6:45 min; Lap 2- 7:11 min; Lap 3- 7:21 min; Lap 4- 7:24 min; Lap 5- 7:27 min; Lap 6- 7:08 min. I ran a seventh lap as a cool down and although I ran it at slow pace it challenges my endurance. I hope to be able to run ten gravel laps, during one run, by the next three weeks. My plan is to add a lap at every run. My times are not going to determine my ability to reach my goal. I hope to first have better endurance in order to decrease the time it takes to run my goal of five laps.

Next week I will continue running and use what I am learning in my yoga class to practice my form/ poses at home. I will cook another meal using tofu as a protein source. I am proud of myself for finding time to run and cook! These actions will soon turn into great habits.
