The following endeavor was to use these techniques in a sketch and produce a complete image with shades and perspective. The picture below was the focus. I identified a vanishing point - the train - and the horizon - the line of the ground and the mountains, which impacts the train track. I realized the tracks needed to shrink nearing the train. I darkened the outlines of their wooden materials. For a more distant appearance, tracks were added as they got closer to the train. The pebbles lying in between the tracks were stippled as they got closer to the vanishing point. The ground was cross-hatched and the mountains shaded in, contrasting with the unshaded lightness around the train tracks. These details are observable in any images and give a realism to sketching creating an accurate depiction. My difficulty was making the lines. The angle was a challenge freehand. Although, I am going to try to get better as I reattempt next week using a different sketching focus.
