For the first week of sketching, I attempted sketching a dog’s face and its body shape. I had to use various websites. The format of http://www.wedrawanimals.com/how-to-draw-a-dog/ was easy to follow and showed me the process starting with the head using lines. It was interesting to me since I never draw starting downwards. The different sequence can help me. For instance, I could put a focus on the dog’s proportions.
The next site focused on detailing. By studying (http://drawsketch.about.com/od/learntodrawanimals/ss/drawdog.htm#step5), I was learning how smaller lines can contribute to sketches. The artist looked at the picture and saw how it was built of sections. The face was of lines, triangles, and ovals. I realized the artist views the object for its pieces for any sketching. It is not about the entirety.
These were the things that I observed and will apply for sketching in different subjects because the main idea will be consistent. All drawings contain basic structures. In my attempts, I tried looking at the screen while drawing and the shapes lacked any neatness. I could try taking mental pictures for sketching. Reflecting has me thinking of steps to carry on. I am going to continue learning techniques. My learning is the practice. I am seeking to lessen the challenge by practicing it. Which type of sketch do want to see? Suggestions considered!
