Playing the Keyboard
My final product/goal/accomplishment will be to play at least 3 popular/well known songs on my keyboard. A few years ago my parents gave me a keyboard for Christmas and I never got the chance or had the motivation to learn how to use it, until now.
What I need to know about my topic to be successful is how to read sheet music and how to identify the notes on a keyboard. In the music class i took in middle school we learned the very basics of reading music sheets, but since I haven't practiced in about a year I don’t really remember any of it.
The easiest part of this project will be finding sheet music of popular songs. If you go online and google “sheet music” along with the title of the song you can find almost anything.
The difficult parts of this project will be learning how to read sheet music and then transferring those notes into the keys on my keyboard to make music.
Most of this project will be done outside of class because I can’t bring my keyboard into school to practice. During the 20 time I will probably be teaching myself how to read sheet music. I will also be looking for sheet music for popular songs that most of the people in my class will recognize.
