Reflection (3rd)

My next step was to put texture in practice. I tried sketching the standard cube and put different textures on different sides. As seen below, three of the sides are visible which is where I put cross hatching, hatching, and contour hatching. I scumbled and stippled for the shadow parts in the background. I found that practice had revealed many significant themes for sketching. I realized how holding the pencil can impact pressure. Darker and closer lines make the textures stronger. These were in each method including the stippling and scumbling. Therefore, I could apply these in any drawings, any of these, for textures. The contour hatching was my challenge, using a non-rounded shape. I am going to continue practicing different forms and applying textures. Which shape would be easiest to try continuing?

  1. Great work, I never spent the time to practice sketching so I definitely admire this work. How about a dodecahedron next? :)
