Reflection #2
This week I focused mainly on reading music sheets. I tried to find piano sheets for popular songs that I enjoy and listen to the daily. This consisted mostly of One Direction and Adele. The problem was that most of these songs were very difficult to play, and I am definitely not on that level yet. I decided I would save these songs for later when I am able to play them. For now I'm going to play basic starter piano songs like "Mary had a little lamb" and "twinkle, twinkle". To practice reading the music I printed out the sheets and wrote the letters of the notes under the notes. I also wrote the letters on the keys of my piano so that it would be easier to match them. I practiced doing this many time over and over again until I was able to play it without even looking at the sheet. Overall I feel pretty accomplished for playing my first few songs, but I'm going to need a lot more practice to be able to play the more complicated pop songs of One Direction.
