Reflection Week 1

This week jump started my path towards the vast black hole of the coding language. I started with a Ruby coding course from the website codecademy. Because of my unfamiliarity with code, ruby was the most appealing software. Ruby is famous for its simplistic properties ranging from its commands to its approach to new learners. After learning Ruby, it can open up doors to other more complex languages such as html and javascript. Excited to begin, I cruised through the basic commands such as put and print which display the code. As I progressed through the course, I was taught how to create a basic calculator by inputting variables and mathematical symbols. The importance of this lesson was that it revealed to me how amazing code can be and the potential it has for me to create something great. Moving on, I learned some more basic commands and prompts such as .upcase and how to set a variable. This is where I currently stand in my adventure towards the mastery of Ruby. I am pleased with what I have accomplished and am excited for week 2.
