Reflection 9

This week, I made good progress on my skills. My uncle, who was visiting for Thanksgiving, heard that I was learning the guitar and finally was able to give me a guitar pick! I've learned how to strum pretty well without a guitar pick, from that YouTube video that instructed me to do so with my thumb and middle finger, and it actually helped infinitely. During Thanksgiving I was able to work on the my mom's song with her for a little bit, and I've almost gotten the song down. It's basically the same pattern of chords, and a relatively easy strumming pattern so it's not too difficult to get down, but playing at a normal pace is still fairly difficult. I am still practicing with the trick on YouTube to strum faster, and it has helped immensely I'm still on the track of getting there and moving my fingers  onto the right strings. Because I usually dedicate weekends to playing the guitar, due to strenuous school work, I do not strum it regularly enough to develop actual calluses. Hopefully, during another long break, I will be able to develop real calluses!

  1. Hello from The Bahamas,
I'm impressed with your project choice.
Calluses are a sign of dedication! Keep it up...it sounds like you are on the right track!
