Final Reflection

This project was a great success. Not only did I improve my strength and routine of going to the gym, but I improved my overall feeling and fitness. I created a diet plan to which I still follow after the project, and I plan to co tu ur my routine of going to the gym. I learned a lot from this project, like being consistent, prepared, and dedicated to your work. This project has set me up well for the summer, and I hope to co to ur my good start to a long journey.

Final Reflection

On the whole, my goal was mostly achieved. I completely learned the solution for the entire Cube and it was not so difficult. Although, I faced some expected setbacks. The flow of the processes met my expectation. It was very simple to follow a guide. My biggest struggle was having the chance to practice, and memorization of all the steps. The projection selection filled in the allotted timeframe, and was enjoyable. The solving of the Rubik’s Cube was exciting, and learning sequences, opportunity. I discovered ways to manage my learning and be committed to doing it and staying with it. I appreciate having the opportunity.

Final Reflection

The past weeks I have used to learn Swift and then eventually create an iPhone app. Although Francisco and I may not have created the app we originally hoped to, we did learn a lot in the process. We hope to countinue our learning into the summer and eventually create the app we always wanted.

Final Reflection

This 20% Time Project is probably the coolest project I've ever done in school. It was amazing to be able to work on something that I was not only passionate about but something I also found very interesting. This semester was definitely more successful than the first and I am very proud of the outcome of my video. It was great to be able to put a smile on my teammates faces and show them how proud they should be of all the work they've done this year. As for filming and editing, I think that I will continue to practice my skills over the summer and put together a video of all the adventures I go on. Finally, I would like to thank Mrs. Roy for giving me the opportunity to work on something this exciting and fun!

Final Reflection

This 20% project has been a journey for me. I have learned many things along the way, from 3D modeling to coding. Towards the end of this project I began to struggle but I eventually pulled through. Even though I didn't have any footage to show, I feel as if I accomplished my goal of making a mod. Even though I finished this project I want to explore more areas of modding and continue to make new ones.

Final Reflection

Overall, I feel like this project was a huge success. I enjoyed the whole process of making a movie and even shared it on my facebook page. I am very pleased with the feedback I have received. I have learned a lot this 20 time. I learned not only about making a stop-motion movie but values like patience and persistence as well. Overall I am happy with the project and hope to progress with my skill in filmmaking.

Final Reflection

After the last 20 time project, I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to continue coding. I still wanted to do something that could benefit me in the future and I could have fun with, but I didn't know what. It was then when Alex and I came up with the idea of doing a project together. I remember sitting in lunch one day and we were thinking of things to do, when we came up with the great idea of making an app. In the beginning, we had high aspirations. We wanted to make the next big thing, like a Instagram, snapchat or angry birds. However, we knew that we probably wouldn’t be able to reach that goal in time, so we settled for something a little different. We wanted to make something that we could use to benefit ourselves and the ones around us, so we decided on making an app for Magnet, where you could write down your homework, look at upcoming events and things like that. We got our inspiration from the AIT app, which we thought was so good. When we initially started, I figured since I had more experience with coding, I would “lead” Alex and I in this project, but that wasn’t exactly the case. Alex and I agreed that it was best if we both learned on our own, only talking if we had questions for each other, until we would come together in the end to combine our acquired knowledge and build an app. I did the same thing I did last project, and started a few project based tutorials. It was then when I realized that although i had experience with JavaScript, Swift was something completely different. Although the fundamentals of coding were there, like variables, functions, if then statements, it was different because of the platform I had to use, Xcode. Xcode is the program used to make apps. With my last project, I had to actually create a button from scratch using Javascript, but with Xcode, i could drag the button icon onto the user interface and it would appear without having to write any code. The difference was that in order for the button to actually work, I still had to write code to connect what the user “inputs” or does to the button and make it do something in return. That was the hardest part for me. With javascript, coding the game was pretty easy because all i had to do was link up one paddle to the mouse, while with an app, there are many things users can tap on and do. Along the way in this project, I created a simple calculator, and a MadLibs app, but both weren’t really my work as i had just created them along with a tutorial, so it didn't feel like i was truly coming up with something from scratch.  Nonetheless, I continued learning how to navigate around Xcode and writing in swift. However, it is now that I understand why google, Facebook and other companies have teams of 100s of people to work on and maintain their apps. It is not easy work, and it is very time consuming, which is why Alex and I were unfortunately unable to make an app in the end. This is a big disappointment for the both of us, seeing how we both had high goals. However, there were some good takeaways from this. I learned how having a partner to work with is beneficial. Knowing that someone was depending on me to do my part of the job and learn at the same rate as him kept me on task, which was something i struggled with last project. Also, I continued to improve my problem solving skills, and even began to see real world situations where my coding experience came into hand. Like in Mr. Liu's class, we learned about conditional, converse, inverse, and contrapositive statements, which are all basically if and then statements, and I was one step ahead of the game thanks to my coding experience. All in all, from last project to this one, I gained valuable knowledge that I will continue to try and grow in the future.

Final Reflection

Over the course of this project, I have learned a lot about myself and the topic of weightlifting.  Throughout it's entirety, I have gained many life lessons that I will carry with me forever.  I now understand the importance of patience.  When I first started going to the gym, I thought that results would come overnight.  I now understand that if you want something, you have to work for it.  I also am skilled in time management now.  Going to the gym takes up an hour and a half of my day, so it can be hard to find time.  However, I managed to do it and I will carry this skill with me forever.  Yet most of all, this project has given me a passion.  Whenever I miss a day at the gym now I do not feel the same.  It has become a part of my life and I will continue to go forever.  I genuinely appreciate this opportunity because if this project were not assigned, I very well may never have gone to the gym in the first place.

2-6 20% reflection

Although I didn't start my 20% time until about 5 weeks ago, choosing to learn Italian has helped to bring out the love I have for the language and Italian culture. I cannot wait to go to Italy with the new information I have learned. I want to practice my language skills and knowledge of the architecture and culture of Italy.

Week 17

This week I went hiking and got in an amazing workout. I went with my friend and we began by walking up the steep hill. Then we ran the rest of it at a jogging pace. It was about a 3 mile trip and it took about an hour because we walked some of the hills and we ran at a slow pace. Some of the hills we lunged up them and I felt the burn in my thighs.
On Wednesday, I went to play soccer with my little brother and kids that were a year older than I am. It was the first time playing a scrimmage since last year. I didn't wear my brace and I promised myself to be careful and confident. If I were to doubt every step I was taking then I would not enjoy the game. I also had to be careful and I noticed I didn't try to hard to get the ball from someone because I could easily take a wrong step.
I am walking during the nights for about 40 minutes. Next week, I want to run at least three times.

Reflection 2-17

I have worked on the presentation for the past week. I have decided to rewrite my code to make it cleaner and less jumbled up. When I came back later to test it would not build/compile. Now I have no footage for my project but some of the pictures I took get the point across.

Reflection 2-17

Alex and I have decided to meet up this week on either Monday or Tuesday to work on the app. In order to prepare to collaborate, I looked back on the apps I've already made (the bad Calculator and the MadLib). I reviewed all the code and remembered how everything functioned, that way I could know how to get Alex and I off to a good start on our app. Although the app we create will be extremely simple, we are going to try our best to combine the skills we've gained over the past months to create the best end product we can.

reflection 2-17

This week was decent. I went to the gym twice, but they were both good trips. I also had soccer practice twice during the week, which was a great excersize that I needed. I've been eating more of the same food I said I was, and things have been going well.

Reflection 2-17

This week I added the finishing touches to my presentation. I am really excited to share my final product with the rest of the class. I thoroughly enjoyed this project and hope that my enthusiasm spreads to the audience. Really happy with my work!

Reflection 2-17

I attempted solving the Rubik’s Cube and found myself having the same problems for the sequences. I believed that it was memorized, but on the step before the last of steps, I tried the sequence only for the patterns to be messed up. I am not sure of the issue happening. It might be necessary to attempt while looking at the directions. I could not see any differences in processes for earlier steps and for this piece in particular. I still believe in added practice. I am seeking an opportunity with practicing as it may improve me.

2-5

This week I focused on making an outline of my presentation and putting my presentation together. I looked at places to travel in Rome so that I could include things that I will be doing when I go to Italy in August.

2-17

This week was a huge improvement on last week.  My shoulder is beginning to feel better.  This has allowed me to return to my usual routine.  I am back to full strength and feeling better than ever.  I utilized a different method of training this week.  I went to failure on every set, to ensure that I increase weight each week.  While this project is coming to a close, I have still taken a lot away from it.

Reflection 2-17

Overall, this week I had to take time to reflect on what this project has meant to me and what I have acquired from the experience. The things that I have learnt are definitely invaluable to me, but to explain the process of this to the class seems a lot different then last semester. My last 20% project, I was learning something from the beginning - starting as a total newbie and understandable mistakes were made. With this 20% project, I feel like I've been stumbling through the language and trying to learn it since I was born. So, I've decided to present my 20% project by reaching far past just what started in January, but what I've been feeling for awhile so the class understands the entirety of what I have obtained.

Reflection 2.17

Francisco and I have decided to meet up this week to work on the app. We decided on making a simple app for our school with things like a picture gallery and a calendar. We are going to start with a basic design, and then add as many widgets as we can.

Reflection 2 - 17

Cooking Classy
Place warm milk into large bowl and whisk in sugar until dissolved. Sprinkle yeast over warm milk and let dissolve and proof for 5 minutes. Whisk in eggs, butter and salt. Gradually begin adding bread flour. When dough forms, turn out onto work surface and knead gently to make soft dough. Adjust flour as needed, add all 4 cups if dough is still sticky. Place dough into greased bowl, covered with kitchen towel and let proof for 45 to 60 minutes, or until doubled in size. Preheat oven to 350F. Line large, rectangle baking dish (I used a 13x9-inch pan) with parchment paper and spray with non-stick spray. If you would like to add nuts to the cinnamon rolls, sprinkle them on the bottom of the pan. Roll dough on lightly floured surface into large rectangle. Spread with melted 1/3 cup butter. Combine brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Sprinkle mixture over butter and work in with hands (can add chopped nuts at this stage, if desired). Gently roll dough to form a log. Using un-flavored dental floss, section dough into 1 1/2-inch thick pieces. Place cut rolls into prepared pan. Cover pan with clean kitchen towel and let dough proof until doubled in size. I placed mine next to my preheated oven to speed up the process. Bake in preheated oven for 7-10 minutes. Take out rolls and pour several tablespoons of heavy cream over each roll. Return to oven and bake until golden brown on top. Meanwhile, prepare frosting. Whisk together cream cheese, butter, vanilla. 2 tablespoons half-and-half and salt in small bowl. Add confectioner’s sugar. Adjust frosting consistency by adding milk; add several more tablespoons for a thinner icing. Spread frosting over warm rolls and let the rolls cool slightly before serving. Alternatively, place frosting into disposable pastry bag/ziplock bag, and pipe individually onto each roll. Keep rolls covered and refrigerated when not serving. Best when reheated in oven.

Reflection #2-17

This final week I continued to work on my video and I am almost completely done. My banquet is this Wednesday, and I am so excited to be able to present this to my teammates. Apart from the actual project I also worked on a little trailer to present to the class just to show a few parts of my video. I am almost done with this as well. For my presentation I decided to split it into the three phases of my project. The learning stage, the practicing stage, and the project editing phase. I figured this was the best way to explain all the work I did during this semester.

2.16

Nothing much to say this week other than I've done the usual bug fixing. I also have been thinking of ways to present my project and show what I learned from it

2-16

This week I thought about my presentation a lot. Although I continued my usual adventure of learning a language, I also had to think about how I would present what this journey has been to me to the class. I've went through a lot of ups and downs and I still have my struggles, but I have come out on the other side with essential knowledge. I'm still in the process of figuring out how to convey that to a class in under fifteen minutes, but I'm sure that there will be some way to transport some of what I've felt other the past couple months during my twenty percent project.

Reflection 2-16

This week wasn't as productive as weeks prior. I only got to go to the gym twice due to a busy week in school. Also over the weekend I couldn't go because I was booked with work and driving lessons. This project may be coming to an end, but that doesn't mean I won't keep up what j have started in the coming weeks.

Reflection 2-16

Again, there was not enough time for practice for the sequences, but there was some and the steps are more solidified. I am much more fast on all sequences. Before I attempted, I found the reference guide and noticed my problem spots, and tested my memory for those particular steps. It was what I imagined. Therefore, a block in my process mostly is doubting my knowledge. Sometimes, I am believing that I sincerely am unclear of what the step is which makes me refer the guide again. Generally, increasing practice would also increase confidence, which is a very essential component to successes.

2-4

I continued with learning Italian on the website this week, but I also worked on the outline for my presentation. I decided to make my presentation not only about the language, but what Italy has to offer, specifically Rome's must-see sights. I have at least 2 books on Italian tourism, 2 maps, and an Italian dictionary to help me with my presentation and in the long term (my 4-month stay there). I can't wait to explore the places I am researching about!

Reflection #2-16

This week I didn't do much editing in my video due to a few issues I was having with my computer. The iMovie application kept closing immediately after opening it. I tried to fix the issue by restarting my computer, but it still wouldn't work. In the meantime I begun to plan my presentation for this project. Since the video is going to be much longer than the 10 minutes begin given to us to present I decided i wanted to make a short trailer shows some of the most important parts of the video, or the parts that took the most work to film/edit. I figured this would be the best way to show the work I did for this semester.

Reflection 2.16

This week, me and Francisco started to brainstorm ideas for our app. We both agreed that our skills levels weren't quite to where we hoped, but we can still make a decent app. We will be working on it this week.

Reflection 2-16

This week was largely unsuccessful.  My shoulder continues to give me problems and it makes my exercises difficult.  I have been icing it and doing stretches at home but I am very limited as to what I can do.  Hopefully next week will be more successful.

Reflection 2-16

After having an unsuccessful week last week, I took a little break from working on the Uber-like app in order to brainstorm with my partner Alex on what we are going to do for our app. We've been tossing ideas back and forth, and came to the conclusion that we are going to do our best to create a simple app in order to show how much progress we've made. We are going to set up a day or two in which we can meet up after school in order to work on it. I am excited to start working on the app and to put our combined skills to the test.

Week 16

This week I participated in gym sports. We played soccer and I was super excited. I was more confident than nervous and that helped with my performance. I am definitely more confident in my leg strength since surgery. I also ran three times this week about two or three miles every run. I ran on the track on Tuesday and from the first lap I felt a lot of pain. I thought it was because of the track but I continued to run. The next day I was in a lot of pain. I learned that running on the track is not the best surface for my knee. I am going to stick to the gravel but run on hard ground once in a while. I am going to track my one mile and 6 miles time. I am going to record my max push ups, sit ups and squats over the next two weeks to see my progress before the end of the semester.

Reflection 2.15

This week I continued to improve the simple app that I started to make. I added a home screen consisting of a picture and a few tab buttons that take you to other pages. It's nothing fancy but it works.

Reflection 2-16

This week I was able to get started on my presentation. I plan to talk about the hardships with the project as well as my influence. I felt like I have learned a lot from this project and have explored a possibility for a career. I plan to finish the presentation this week.

Reflection 2 - 16

Once Upon A Cook
This week I decided to make myself some beef stew. I first stared off by seasoning the meat with salt and pepper in a large pot, caramelizing them in some oil, and removing from the pot. Next I added cut onions, garlic cloves, and balsamic vinegar and cooked them until golden brown. Then I added some tomato paste, a bit of flour, beef stock, water, and some spices over the meat. I covered the pot and braised in the oven for 2 hours. I then cut up some carrots and potatoes into the pot, and cooked it for another hour.

Saverio Week 15

I am very happy to say that since I last checked in I have been able to use this company to make $1,000. I project that on 6/11 it will make nearly $2,000. I am also working on a large contract with the City of Bridgeton which has the potential to make about $100,000 per year.

Week 15

On my own time I found yoga advice. There are tips on deep breathing and relaxing. Recently, I have been feeling overwhelmed. These techniques have helped me a lot and I hope to share them with my classmates. Everyday I drink a gallon of water and run two miles to 6 miles after school. On the days I run 2 miles, I kicked around the soccer ball with my friend. I incorporate twenty push-ups and thirty sit-ups. I can do these with ease usually but after running it gets challenging. I learned that running before workouts is better because you force your muscle to work when they are already exhausted. This is compared to exhausting your muscles all the way and then trying to run while your whole body is trying to recover. I have been feeling knee pain from running on the track so I decided to stick to running on the gravel track. Next week I am running everyday and drinking a gallon of water. I am eating more dark green vegetables as well.

Reflection 2-15

This week I continued my good work in the gym. I went three times, each time having a solid workout. I also had a soccer tournament over the weekend, which was extremely good for my stamina, as i played three games in two days. My diet was also good, I kept eating the same foods as I had been the previous week.

Reflection 2-15

This week was really progressive in terms of learning Ilongo. I am now starting to go back to finessing my original language so I will be able to distinguish the differences between the two using what I have learned about Tagalog the past couple of months. I'm happy to say that I have improved very greatly with very obvious changes! My parents and all of my relatives are happy to see how far I've come.

Monday, May 30, 2016

2-3

I continued using the website this week. It's easier than the book I'm learning from because of the audio. I want to find more videos to learn from and eventually start talking more in general. I want to focus on simple conversational Italian this week.

Sunday, May 29, 2016

Reflection 2-15

This week I was able to showcase my movie to my relatives and friends. All of them thoroughly enjoyed it. In the coming week, I hope to work on my final presentation more to avoid any conflict with my finals studying schedule.

Reflection 2.15

I've started to work on my presentation because I have no idea how to present this project. It is much different from the last one because i do not have much material to show. Other than that I have been reviving feedback from some of the people that have played with my mod. I have implemented some of their ideas and fixes to make it even more polished.

Reflection #2-15

Initially, my plan for this week was to do more filming, but I didn't realize that I would be missing so many practices. On Tuesday we had a field trip and we got back late so I missed practice, and on Saturday we had off for Memorial Day Weekend. This only left me one practice to film, Thursday. To make up for my lack of filming I just worked more on the video. To get a little inspiration for it I watched videos on youtube about adventures and trips that people have gone on. I wanted to see how they transition from part to part so that the video runs smoothly. Next week I would like to do more filming, like I intended to do this week.

Reflection 2-15

Though it was another successful week for having memorized the sequences, I do not think I found enough practice opportunity. It was hard to perform all the sequences, not seeing the instructions although, referring back to it through glancing was enough for me to remember. Aside from the final two sequences, I mastered it, altogether. I still need to get an opportunity to practice, again, and again, to have total muscle memory and no problems. The beginning stages are still easiest for me, and I am aiming for having the whole set of sequences to be that simple for me. I am going to have to practice a lot and continue until I completely get it having no forgetting instances.

http://lghttp.38568.nexcesscdn.net/8013252/pdf/uploads/general_content/Rubiks_cube_3x3_solution-en.pdf

Reflection 2-15

This week was not successful at all. With a field trip on Tuesday, and a tournament running from Friday to Sunday, I barely had time to work on my project. In class, I found it difficult to focus on my 20 time project and mainly focused on the soundtrack of my life. As I'm nearing towards the end of this journey, I've realized that I will not reach my goal of making an app for Magnet. If Alex and I do manage to create something however, it will be very simple.

2-15

This week was not the most successful week.  My shoulder gave me a lot of trouble.  It prevented me from completing full workouts and reduced my strength in the exercises I could do.  I am going to have to rest it a bit so I don't damage it further.  I will reassess next week.

Reflection 2 - 15

Great Ideas. People. Com
This week was pretty relaxed with my cooking, with the only thing I cooked, being sweet potatoes and eggs, which really isn't something elaborate and extravagant.

Wednesday, May 25, 2016

Reflection 14

This week hasn't been as progressive as the last couple of weeks. I barely spent any time with my family especially with all the prom preparations, prom itself, and going down the shore with friends. None of them speak Tagalog or Ilongo so it was a little to hard to interact with others. I continued to watch shows, talk to my parents, etc. During prom and during the weekend, I did call my parents and had a conversation in full Tagalog over the phone - something that I've never done before! It just goes to show how comfortable we've been getting with me speaking Tagalog.

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

Week 14

I followed my plan of running 5 days out of this week. On Monday I ran about 4 miles in 39 minutes. I ran another 6 miles in an hour and two minutes. The rest of the days I ran about 3 miles.
I have been focusing on what I eat and drinking about a gallon of water a day. This week proved that I have improved my long distance times. During the last 20% project I ran six miles and it took me an hour and twenty minutes. This week I ran six miles in about 18 minutes less. Next week, I am giving myself a break and stretching a lot and going for light jogs. The yoga classes I was attending expired and I still had five classes left. This is upsetting because I didn't use all the classes I bought. You can only buy in packages and have a certain amount of time to go. I hope to start doing yoga on my own. I am going to look at yoga advice during my 20% time next week.

Reflection #2-14

I didn't do anything special this week. I just did more filming and more editing. I want to make the video as interesting as possible so I worked a lot on making it match perfectly to the clips playing and such. I also started a little section for bloopers in the video, since i had plenty of those. When I filmed this week I focused more on filming the coaches than the swimmers just for a change of perspective. When I looked back to see all the clips I had I didn't see many of my coaches or the younger swimmers of my team, so I'm going to focus on filming more of them this week.

Reflection 2-14

This week was another good one. I went to the gym 3 times, all during the school week. I was planning on going to the YMCA over the weekend, but I had two soccer games and I was too tired. I continued eating healthier, and I can feel the difference. Next week I hope to do more of the same, but maybe squeeze in another gym day.

2-2

I continued using that website. It's really helpful in pronunciation. It even has quizzes so you can test yourself on your knowledge of Italian words-- the meaning, if it is informal or formal, and when to use it. I studied the words for greetings, emotions, family, and general conversation. I want to focus on structuring sentences too, which I can hopefully do in this upcoming week.

Reflection 2.14

With 20% coming to a close very soon it would not be wise to start a new project. I am going to continue bug fixing and tweaking my previous mods. I changed some things on one of my models from a tip o read from someone who made the same mistake. Not much else to say for this week.

Reflection 2-14

I am feeling so confident. I memorized every sequence and can perform it. There are no steps to learn, and my goal is completed. I found that I solved the Rubik’s Cube and it was not a difficult learning experience, but it was a learning experience. It took lots of practice, and that is a key for succeeding for anything, and through it, I absolutely succeeded. The only way to retain any memorization was to keep at it to not forget any steps. The weeks I practiced for longer intervals of time are the weeks of more succeeding. I am going to continue to practice often.
http://lghttp.38568.nexcesscdn.net/8013252/pdf/uploads/general_content/Rubiks_cube_3x3_solution-en.pdf

2-14

This week I tried out a different split in my workouts.  This means that I worked out different body parts on the same day.  For example, I usually do chest and triceps, but this week I did chest and back.  Unfortunately, I did not like it as much as my usual workouts, so u will be returning to my old split.  However, it is good to mix things up every once in a while.

2.14

In preparation of my new app, I decided to make a layout of an app but doesn't really do anything but acts like a template. This way, I can start to get a feel of making an app, and make a swift transition.

Reflection 2-14

This was the best week of productivity ever. I utilized my time very well and was able to complete filming! I am now finished with my movie. It took all of Saturday and the majority of Monday to complete the task. However, I am very happy with my work. I will start working on the presentation for midterms next week.

Reflection 2-14

This week, I continued both tutorials I started. I started building the Uber app, but it's extremely simple so far. Its a single view app and right now I'm just setting up the elements. I also continued with the Udemy tutorial during 20 time in class. Alex and I have yet to really collaborate but we are looking to start soon.

Reflection 2 -14

Image result for fried plantains
This week I decided to make some fried plantains. You first start off by taking a bowl of water, salt, and garlic and setting it aside. Then you take a medium sized pan and fill it with oil, heating it on medium heat. Peel the plantain and cut into 1 inch slices. Add the slices to the hot oil and fry both sides until they have some color then remove and dry them on a baking sheet. Place the slices into the water for about 1 minute, then take them out to dry and remove any excess water. Place them back into the oil until golden brown. Remove, them sprinkle with salt and serve.

2-13

This week was super hectic as school seems to fly by super quickly. This means that I am getting a lot closer to the end of this journey, but it won't really be the actual end, since I'm sure the things that I've learned the past few months will be quintessential in my trip to the Philippines. I've continued to use the quiz lets that I've found online and, although I've let it slip a bit the past couple of days, I continue to speak Tagalog at home as frequently as I can. So far, watching the Filipino television series has been such an enjoyable way to test my skills, and I've also started watching the Filipino channel with my family. It was so hard to understand before especially at the speed with which they spoke

Reflection 2.13

The new expansion came out and gave us plenty of things to work with. My next project is to either modify or create my own enemy in the game. I do have to make use of my time better if I want to finish before 20% ends. Other than that not much progress has been made in creating that new enemy. I only have to layout set up.

Reflection 2-13

This week, I employed a new method in my workout.  It is called "progressive overload" this means that you increase the weighty gradually over time.  This technique is great because I had stagnate in my strength gains.  With this method, it ensures you lift heavier each week.  I utilized it all five days of my workouts and was very pleased with the results.  I'm confident it will bring me success in the future.

Reflection 2.13

For this week's 20 time, I took one of the little "games" I made before, and put it into an app, and then started the iPhone simulator so that the game looked like a "real" app.

2-1

This week I focused on pronunciation of Italian words, specifically greetings. I found a website (https://www.moltobeneitalian.com/course/1/en) where there is audio to go along with the words which is very helpful. I also have a vocabulary book that  helps with pronouncing the words. Italian is very similar to Spanish which makes it easier for me to pick up the language. Next week I plan on focusing on phrases for conversation.

Reflection 2-13

This week was an unsuccessful one. I got sick and was bedridden for most of the weekend. I also had a practice ACT/SAT test to take. I am hoping to add two more minutes to my film by next week. I have a plan in mind, but I just need to take those ideas and produce them.

Reflection #2-13

This week I filmed shots of our routines underwater. They came out looking really cool, because no one really knows what routines look like from beneath the surface, and it would be really cool to include shots from above and below the surface. Apart from this I also took a few videos of my coaches talking to my team and giving corrections, and I took videos of my teammates messing around and laughing. I wanted to capture the silliness of my teammates and how fun it is to be a part of a team. I think that I've taken a lot of footage for the video, so now I would like to start spending more time editing and less time filming.

Week 13

This week I was not as consistent but my weekend was filled with two long runs. I ran three miles in thirty minutes. That means that I ran a lot faster than my previous time. I ran at the high school and with a pertner that is faster than me. My old time was those five laps (3 miles) 33 to 35 minutes. I also went to a hot yoga class which takes place in a heated room. It was hard and I sweat a lot. It releases toxins from your body.
Next week I am going to run five out of seven days and go to the gym three days out of five. My goal is to run everyday and go to the gym five days a week but I am going to try my best.

Reflection 2-13

This week was another successful one. I continued eating healthier, and I can feel the difference. I feel better, and have more energy throughout the day. I went to the gym three times this week, and each one was productive. Hopefully I can continue the same next week.

Reflection 2-13

I’m more concretely memorized the steps. Presently, I am able to follow all the sequences, mentally. All it took was increased focus. I am still shaky on the second-to-last of the sequences, but after memorizing it again, I attained a tighter hold on the procedure. By practicing, and having the right outcomes, I could see my gradual progression, and know it is going in the intended route. I could make turns faster recently, and know notation. Throughout my learning, it helped me to progress speedily. Since the process is completed, all there is to continue could be practice to solidify my abilities.

Reflection 2-13

This week, I found an interesting project to start. I was looking through YouTube when I found a Swift tutorial for an app like Uber (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYATp9--VIM). I barely got started watching Part 1 of the video, but I can already tell there are some new elements I'm going to be learning about. For instance, in Part , I will learn how to make a video background for an app, just like the real Uber app has, utilizing functions such as outlets.

Reflection 2 - 13

(The Organic Kitchen)
This weekend I decide to make some spaghetti with Italian sausage. I first boiled the spaghetti, with some salt, for about 10 minutes in a large pot filled halfway with water. After fully cooked, I drained the spaghetti and set it aside. I then took out a pan, filled it with 1 1/2 cap-fulls of oil, cut up the sausage, and pan fried them until it was golden brown. Then I added 1/4 cup of water to the pan, reduced the heat, covered the pan ,and let cook until it was well done. Then I combined the spaghetti and sausage.

Reflection 2-12

This week, I began to change my diet seriously. I have cut down on the junk food - chips, cookies, desserts, all cut down on. I also have started eating more protein, which includes more eggs, chicken, steak, Greek yogurt, and more. In terms of going to the gym, I went only twice, but I hope to go at least 3 times next week.

Reflection 2-12

This week, I wanted to check up on exactly how far my progress has come. So, I decided to watch my favorite Pinoy television show without the subtitles and see how well I can follow it. Usually, when I would watch the show, I would watch it with subtitles and I would use that to aid in learning Tagalog. But, I figured, this far in my 20% journey, I should be able to translate without the use of subtitles. I was pleasantly surprised with my results! There were some parts that I would have to rewind and then ask my mom or dad what the characters just said, but overall, I had a much clearer comprehension then I did before. I was so excited to see how far I've come with understanding complex, and very quick Tagalog.

Week 12

I have finally had a break through of motivation to start working out everyday. I am going to a schedule for 7 days and I can switch up the workouts so its not the same pattern every week. I was not very motivated to the first 8 week of this project which may be because I started a new routine of working out which was different than a constant running.
In my schedule I am going to incorporate running, body weight exercises and weight training. I am going to the fitness center during my free period to workout everyday. I will take a day off during the week to rest. I am going to switch muscle groups throughout the week and plan time to stretch. During my 20% time I found tips to running and training everyday. I learned that planning one long run (90 minutes +) each week is important for the body to use its fat as fuel. I am going to do new exercises like dumbbell squats and split squat/lunges.
6 days out 7 I will be running and going to the gym 5 days next week. This week I ran four times and went to the gym twice. My goal is to be more consistent and workout everyday.

Reflection 2-12

This week I made significant progress. I was able to use my time this weekend to work on my stop motion video. I have about a minute of footage recorded and hope to get at least 5 minutes in. I might incorporate interviews with classmates and teachers to acquire an opinion on my topic.

Reflection 2.12

This week I started to play around on XCode. I practiced with designing and the layout of an app. I tried to make a basic start screen for an app and I think it turned out okay, but I'm going to watch some more video tutorials.

Reflection 2.12

I spent the mojo try of this week finding ideas on what to do next. I spoke with a few other modders and the community about what they want to see. I posted on Reddit, the Xcom 2 forums and various other places to get an idea on what would be good to implement in the game. I will not put any work into the project until the new expansion releases on the 12th in order to see what the developers of the game have though lot of. It will most likely help me decide on what to do

Reflection #2-12

My external drive has not yet arrived, so I just continued to film clips of my teammates underwater. I filmed some parts of our routine up close from above and under the water. I may just film more videos of my teammates and coaches talking, but I also want to include some funny moments from the year at the end of the video. The next meet we have is the Junior Olympics, but since they it's at the end of June I won't be able to film any of it. I decided that instead I'm going to film all of the preparation leading up to it, so that I can end the video with us about to go to nationals.

Reflection 2.11

This week, I continued to learn some of the more advanced aspects of Swift. This requires significantly more logical thinking and reasoning skills than before.

Reflection 2.10

This week I made yet another simple app. Pretty much, you tell the computer if your baby is a guy or a girl, and it returns the five most popular baby names for the respecting gender. To do this, I needed to learn arrays.

Reflection 2-12

I’ve found that my memory of the steps did not stick. I reviewed, and got up to those final two sequences and I’d drawn a blank. I referred back to the instructions and then remembered. As it was for other steps, the part of remembering takes practice. These are the newest sequences, so therefore, these are not completely known, but will be. Hence, in order to get these memorized, I am going to continue practicing, and will then become familiar with the steps. Afterwards, the steps to solve are going to be fully memorized. I anticipate that every week there should be more parts memorized.

2-12

This week was a rather successful week.  I was able to get to the gym 5 times and stretched each night.  I am noticing significant improvements in my flexibility as I am now able to stretch my toes.  I have also made improvements on several exercises this week.  I also am up 2 pounds from last week. I hope to continue this trend and have further success.

Reflection 2 - 12

Image result for lasagna
(Wikipedia)
This week I decided to perfect an old lasagna recipe with the help of my mother for mother's day. I think I have made a significant improvement because my layers now do not combust at my very touch like the last time. It held up, wasn't burned, and was very flavorful. I think that as time passes my cooking is getting progressively better which is a relief,

Reflection 2-12

This week was a slow week just like last week. I'm still looking for a good new project to start, but I haven't quite found anything yet. I'm looking through YouTube and Udemy and I might have to start another simple app if I can't find anything.I through this time, I've continued to look at various types of functions and integers, which seem to be a big part in all types of coding. So far, I've learned a lot and although my skills aren't where I would like them to be, I've made a lot of progress.

Proposal

I was accepted into the World Scholar's Program at the University of Delaware which means I will be studying abroad my first semester in Rome, Italy. I want to start learning Italian in order to communicate better for the four months I will be staying there. Most of my 20% time will be done at home, reading and researching how to pronounce and recite Italian vocabulary. In school I can also watch videos and look online for tips. I want to learn important phrases, but I also want to be able to hold conversations. I speak Spanish already so there are a lot of similarities and although a few weeks is not a long time to learn and understand a language completely it will still help me to start the process before departing for Rome.

Saverio Week 11

Over the past couple of weeks I have managed to take all the proper food handling classes. I had to pass those in order to serve food. I was also able to secure Zipeto Concessions' first job. It is at a fair in Warren in July. I am happy to report such good news.

Reflection 2-11

I made some good progress this week. As always, I reviewed my typical translations on quizlet and just reinforced those a little bit more. Phrases such as these are useful especially when communicating with my family. I think that my family has come around to using Tagalog a lot more in the household compared to their usual direct of Ilongo for the sake of me learning. It's been really helpful especially because I see a bit more of a clearer distinction between the two. I do hope that I don't lose too much of my familiarity with Ilongo. It'll take awhile for me to find that perfect balance between both dialects in where I can speak both just as equally. Hopefully in the coming weeks I can call myself proficient enough in Tagalog and I can move onto Ilongo.

reflection 2-11

This week was a good one. I got into the gym three times, and had a soccer game over the weekend. Each time in the gym I felt like I had a good workout, and my soccer game involved a lot of running, which is foot. Next week I hope I can continue the good work.

Reflection 11

This week, I was only able to get to the gym twice.  I had to complete a research paper which took up  a lot of my time.   I also had a lot of tests and quizzes to study for.  However, I was able to stretch each day for about 20 minutes after I completed my work.

Week 11

This week I decided to research exercises I could do at home on my own. These exercises don't require additional weights. They are call body weight exercises because you use your body as a weight. These exercises are simple but I know more than pushups and sit-ups as exercises.
I went for a run during the week: 2 miles un about 20 minutes which is only a little better than last week but that is still something to be proud of. I can do 20 pushups with ease finally. This week is going to be different. I am going to run 4-5 times during the week and drink plenty of water.v I am trying to cleanse my body. I am going to do the body weight exercises I learned which have weird names but they are easy. There are ones where you do a push up then jump up and repeat. Then ones that you have to do a kick stand again and again for thirty seconds then take a break and do another exercise until you have to repeat the whole set of exercises.

Reflection 2.11

This week I worked on generating ideas for a new mod concept. It is quite hard to do since many other people that are more talented than me have already taken the idea. I was thinking of a mod that will make section of the game a little less confusing since the first time I encountered it I had a tough time getting through. Hopefully I can start working on it soon.

Reflection 2-11

This week was awful. With an english research paper due, my whole week was occupied. Mentally exhausted on Friday, I passed out as soon as I got home. My Saturday was occupied by other events as well. Today, I have to study for multiple exams on Monday. Hopefully the craze dies down and I can focus on my short clip.

Reflection #2-11

This week I solved the issue of not having enough space on my laptop. I purchased an external drive for my macbook so that I could have more space to upload my videos from my go pro. Since the external drive was ordered online, it may take a while for it to get to my house, so for now I've been using my Mac. The only issue I have with my Mac is that it's a little old, so sometimes when I was working on my video it would freeze and the application would close. Because of this issue I decided I would just focus more on filming underwater shots of my teammates. This week hopefully my drive will arrive an I can continue to edit my video.

Reflection 2-11

The Rubik’s Cube is solved and the steps are memorized. After having little time for progress, I found more of the opportunity for this week to memorize, practice, and learn. I practiced in performing all steps, and memorized the sections I still had trouble on. Afterwards, I tried to learn the final sequence in memorization and movement. I succeeded in combining all the sequences and not referring to the instructions which was goal entirely. It took perseverance, but it was not difficult for me to reach these goals and be organized with my process of progressing with learning and memorizing. To continue, I am going to practice the steps and practice getting faster but overall my goals are fulfilled
.

Reflection 2 - 11

This week I decided to make spaghetti with shrimp in a tomato sauce. First thing I did was boiled the spaghetti for about 12 minutes on medium heat then drained it. In another saucepan filled with water, i added a bit of salt and up the shrimp in, cooked for it 3 minutes, ten drained and rinsed it. Then i took a skillet and heated it up with one capful of olive oil. I then saute garlic and some baby tomatoes. Afterwards I also added some tomato sauce. I put the spaghetti and shrimp into the pan, added some salt and sugar, and combined it all.  I served after it was all thoroughly cooked.

Reflection 2-11

After finishing my first app last week, this week was rather slow. I'm looking to start a new project based tutorial. I'm continuing the Swift tutorial from Udemy but I like learning by doing. In the Udemy tutorial, I've started taking a closer look at defining functions and integers. I don't feel ready and comfortable enough to write my own app just yet, so I still have a long way to go.

Reflection 2-10

This week I did something that I've never done before! I was actually able to talk to my grandpa over the phone in Tagalog! It was - as always - a little bit broken but we were able to fully understand what the other was talking about. My grandpa's dialect is not Tagalog, he actually speaks another dialect called Hiligaynon, but since Tagalog is the Filipino national language and is spoken on television and radio, he was able to understand and speak back. This was great because it really helped me connect with my grandpa in ways that I was never able to before. His english is not very good, and he never was able to understand what I was saying. But because of my newfound skills in speaking Tagalog we bridged a gap that seemed totally uncrossable!

Reflection 2-10

During the second week of PARCC, I got much more done than in the first week. Unlike last week, I took advantage of my time and didn't slack off, as I finished the MadLib app.
Although it looks rather simple and there are still some kinks, it is a big step in the right direction. With the help of the tutorial, I was able to make a simple app from scratch, and I can't wait to see what's next for me.

Reflection 2-10

I'm gonna be frank, this week was terrible. I had little time to work on the film with so many distractions such as parcc and church planning for our mission trip this summer. Preoccupied this week with other things, I hope that I can really buckle down and focus this week. I have so many ideas that I just need to put on paper.

Reflection 2-10

This week was a productive week, considering I had parcc for 3 days. I went to the fitness center Monday and Wednesday, and went to the YMCA on Saturday. I did not have any soccer games this weekend so I did not get to do some stamina training during my game, but I do have one next week. Overall it was a solid week, and I can only hope for more of the same next week.

Reflection #2-10

This week I filmed some of our practices before the meet to show how we prepared for it. I took shots of our coaches talking to us and some nice underwater shots. Also, this weekend I had a meet so I did some filming of the routines. Besides filming I just edited a few more parts of the video, like the interviews, and put them into the new editing software that I've been using. A problem I faced this week was that my laptop has no more space left on it to put videos on it so I couldn't edit as much as I would. This week I would like to find a way to clear all the junk I have on my laptop to make space. If I'm not able to do that, I will just have to use my desktop computer to edit the rest of the video.

Reflection 2-10

Again, I could not progress with the cube from not having the time to. The week was busier than usual although there is only one more movement to learn. Therefore, my pacing generally is not an issue and the cube should be solved by next reflection. I am going to practice the other sequences, and strengthen my memorization on such sequences for faster solving times. Mastering the stages would guide me to being more successful. I am mastered through the middle layers stage, but could brush up my skills in going beyond it. I am believing I’m on the right track.

Relection 2-10

I'm working on porting some models from various different games. Some are pre-rigged which is good but others aren't which is a pain for me. I'm not sure what to do next as modeling is becoming boring.

Reflection 2-10

This week was an extremely productive one.  Since, I had the PARCC I had no homework which gave me plenty of spare time.  As a result, I went to the gym 5 times this week.  I continued to do my regular exercises as they have been giving me great progress.  In addition, I stretched each night this week and I feel great.  My muscles are not so tight anymore and it is helping me a lot in the gym.  If I only I did not have homework everyday, then every week would be productive.

Week 10

This week I was very productive and i went for runs three times. I am going to switch from doing gym exercises to working out outside during the day. In my gym class we are playing Handball. I also wanted to see where I am with the basic exercises I started in the beginning of this project.
So far, I can do 20 pushups and that is close to my goal of 30 push ups. I can do 40 sit-ups which is close to my goal of fifty. I can run two miles in twenty minutes which is an improvement from twenty two minutes. Now I am going to write down the goals I have mentioned and I will reach them by the end of the project. It is possible to surpass my goal if I am willing to workout on my own time. Since I am not going to the gym during my gym period I have to find time and place to work out or find a gym membership. I decided to do at home exercises so by next week I hope to increase my pushups and sit-ups by five reps each. I want to get my two miles under twenty minutes.

Reflection 2 - 10

This week has been relatively slow in terms of progress in my cooking abilities since I've been taking PARCC and not really cooking as much. I intend, though to be making something next week in order to get back on track.

Reflection 2.9

This week I kind of built off of the program that I made last week. You enter the number of letters you want the name to have, and the program returns a few suitable names. Again, this sounds a lot simpler than it really is.

Reflection 2.8

This week I continued to learn the language of swift. I made a little program that lets you enter your name and then it returns how many letters are in your name. It sounds very simple but it is a step forward for me and teaches me to think like a computer.

Reflection 2-9

During the first week of PARCC, I got nothing done. If I'm being honest, when I found out I would have no homework for the next two weeks, I knew I wasn't going to do much schoolwork. Although I don't consider coding schoolwork, it still involves a lot of time dedicated to it and I slacked off. Previously, I had made the promise that I would finish my MadLib app, however I didn't touch it at all last week. Because I had so much free time, I was irresponsible during the first week and didn't get anything done, and even fell off my regular schedule (hence why I'm posting this late). Luckily, during the math part of PARCC, I was able to finish the MadLib app, but I will talk about that in the reflection for this week.

Refection 2-9

This week I made some good progress. I decided that I would focus more on vocabulary. So, I looked up a couple quizlets and on my way to upstate New York I studied them. I also studied throughout the week when I had a free time. Although this approach seems to be a lot more boring, hopefully I'll be able to apply it more. I've been learning more unconventional words that will hopefully be used soon in a conversation. Overall, I've made really good progress so far.

Week 9

This week I was very sick and with fever for a week. I was not able to do much throughout the weekday except rest and I understand. I am moving from fitness to sports in my gym class which means exercising outdoors. This is always the best time of the year especially because school is coming to an end and its also sunny out. Since the weather is changing, I am going to head out for runs. I decided to not get a gym membership because I may not use it to my advantage and that would be a waste of money. I really want to focus on body weight exercises. I know the basics of pushups and sit-ups but I am going to research more during next week's 20% time. I went to a yoga class on Saturday and I detoxed whatever toxins were in me and I feel motivated to go to more classes. It was a challenging class and my core and mind are getting a workout.
